Dr. Youngwoo Joo was born in Korea and now calls Vaughan, Canada, home. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, earning degrees in zoology and human biology, before going on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from NYU College of Dentistry.
Dr. Joo brings a high level of advanced training to his patients. He has completed an implant residency through TIDE (The Institute of Dental Excellence) in Toronto, as well as extended implant education covering socket grafting, guided bone regeneration, immediate implant placement, and Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) application through the BITES Institute. PRF is a technique that uses the patient's own blood to support optimal healing and bone regeneration. He holds IV sedation certification from the University of Toronto and has completed advanced periodontal surgery training — including soft tissue grafting, crown lengthening, and pocket reduction procedures — through the PERIO Institute and Toronto Implant Academy (TIA). Dr. Joo has also trained in full-mouth reconstruction and aesthetic veneers and crowns through Dr. Phelan's Occlusion and Aesthetic Design program, and he has completed a Digital Smile Design (DSD) residency.
What Dr. Joo values most about his work is the relationships he builds with his patients. He takes pride in getting to know each person, educating them about the connection between oral health and overall well-being, and delivering care that earns their trust and confidence. Hearing a patient's appreciation for the results they've achieved is, for him, one of the most meaningful parts of the job.
Outside the office, Dr. Joo enjoys snowboarding, golfing, and watching basketball.

One cool feature I absolutely loved was the TV on the ceiling, such a smart idea! It made the whole appointment fly by, and it really helped distract me while they were working. It’s those thoughtful little touches that make a big difference.
